MY Favourite Albums #1

A few days ago I was nominated by a friend in a music sharing activity on Facebook.  For ten consecutive days, the nominee is encouraged to post a favourite music album with this repeating caption:

Example – “Day 1 of 10 days. In no particular order – 10 all time favourite albums. What really made an impact, and is still on your rotation list, even if only now and then. Post the cover, and nominate a person each day to do the same.”  For each separately numbered day, a new favourite album cover.

And if you know me, I am not one to just post the caption and the photo.  Haha!  I feel inspired to add some story along with it.

So, today, as I posted the 6th album in this series on my Facebook wall, I thought, well, why not do something in a similar vein on my blog?  Except without nominations.  I would just post my ten favourite album covers with the added background stories.  I have seen some of my other blogging friends posting about favourite songs and musicians.  And I have posted an occasional music post in the past, featuring a performer of tremendous skill, talent, and imagination…and some with unusual instruments!

And so for album #1, I share with you….this iconic cover photo, Abbey Road.

Beatles_-_Abbey_Road

Ever since I was quite young, the Beatles have held a special place in my heart. I love their songs…their musicality….their stories. It never fades for me.

If I come across an old interview or song clip, even now, I will check it out….as I did again this past weekend. I may focus on other musicians for a while, but I always come back to these guys.

Hard to pick one song to include here, but from the Abbey Road album, I offer you this one…..

Just because it pertains to how I feel these days with bidding adieu to winter and welcoming our hoped-for spring!

Here Comes the Sun! ^_^
