Ice Print

Print made in wet snow,

With onset of freezing cold,

Transforms;  turns solid.

I took this photo early in February of this year.  I had made the footprint in the snow with my boot, as I was coming up the stairs to go inside late one evening.

And we had had several major temperature drops this winter, and so overnight, the temperature dropped significantly so that the wet snow turned into really solid ice.

It wasn’t until the next day, as I looked outside that I noticed how the bootprint had been “preserved.” I was so fascinated by the change.  I ran my fingers along the edges and down the hollows…..every detail rock hard ice, even though it seemed to look still soft.
